Inspired by the mist rolling over the mysterious hills of an ancient tree forest in the early morning, STEAM Eau de Parfum conjures the moment of inspiration between dreaming and waking, when the day is ripe with possibility. Hues of dewy plum, mandarin, coriander, and grapefruit are brought together with a transparent steam of reseda and white magnolia, rooted with the enigmatic notes of cedar, birch, and green tea.

I began working on this creation even before I started Perfumer H. It began as a way to express my lifelong passion for tea, but it was only when I visited the plantation forest of Jingmai in south-western China that it all came together — a moment of clarity.

Lyn Harris grew up between Scotland and Yorkshire, trained at Robertet in Grasse, and works from her own lab in London. Perfumer H writes landscapes: eaux named for what they smell like, then the same names as lotion, soap, candle, incense, tea. Start with the 50ml. The 100ml is handblown by Michael Ruh in London, made to be refilled and kept.
